Cristiano Ronaldo scored four goals, including two from the spot, as Real Madrid cruised to a 5-1 win against Elche at the Bernabeu on Tuesday. Remarkably, the Portuguese international hasnow scored in every La Liga game he’s played at home in the past 12 months — a total haul of 21 goals in 13 games. With Tuesday’s tally, Ronaldo scored his seventh goal in the last fourdays, and ninth of the season in just four matches.

After the game, the Real forward thanked his teammates. “To score four goals is very difficult,” Ronaldo said. “I thank my teammates forpassing me the ball so I am able to score. I have done it two or three other times. It is about the team. Things are coming off for me at the moment, thanks to my teammates for helping me so much. Thematchball is for my son.”

Real coach Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, attributed Ronaldo’s form to the two-week rest he received at the beginning of the season. “The rest he had workedwell for him, he needed to do some specific work,” Ancelotti said. “At this moment he is physically very good, and very motivated, and scoring a lot of goals.”

Real has now scored 18 goals inits last three wins in all competitions, while conceding four.
