[AMERICANS ABROAD] Signed originally to play for Borussia Dortmund II, the German giant's second team in the third division, Joe Gyau made his first-team debut in Borussia Dortmund's 2-2 tie with VfB Stuttgart.

Gyau, who had debuted for the USA last month, came on with 16 minutes to play as Dortmund rallied to earn a point at home thanks to Italian international Ciro Immobile's equalizer in the 86th minute. A spate of injuries opened up an opportunity for Gyau, and he took it.

Gyau played two games last season for Hoffenheim at the end of the 2013-14 season.
