Marca reports that Spain’s anti-corruption authority has summoned 20 players from La Liga to testify over possible game-fixing and illegal betting acts related to a May 21, 2011 gamebetween Real Zaragoza and Levante. At the time, both teams were relegation-threatened, but the 2-1 scoreline in favor of Zaragoza ensured that neither was relegated that season. Of the 20 players thathave been summoned to testify, some of them have already been accused of illegal activity, although as yet their identities are unknown. Some big names, like Ander Herrera (currently withManchester United), Gabi (currently Atletico Madrid), were on the field that day. Former Mexico coach Javier Aguirre was then coach of Zaragoza.
