[7UP SUENO ALIANZA] After tryouts in 12 cities across the USA, 48 players from a dozen U.S. states have been selected to compete on U-16 and U-19 teams at the7Up Sueno Alianza National Finals Oct. 1-5 in Miami, where they will perform for scouts from Mexican clubs and the Mexican and U.S. national team programs.

California and Texas each arerepresented by 11 players.

At last year’s Alianza’s finals, 27 players received invitations for trials with Liga MX clubs and eight players were invited to U.S. Soccer TrainingCenters for a closer look from U.S. national team program coaches. Since the program’s launch in 2008, 40 players have signed professional contracts and 14 earned youth national team call-ups(for the USA, Mexico and Honduras).

Fourteen Mexican league clubs are sending scouts to the Miami event, which will also be attended by U.S. Youth Technical Director and U.S. U-20 head coachTab Ramos, and Adrian Heath, head coach of Orlando City, which joins MLS next season.

The Alianza select teams’ opponents include the U.S. Soccer DevelopmentAcademy’s Weston FC and Plantation Eagles FC.
