Soccer America Women's Top 25 Scoreboard

[ROUNDUP: Sunday] An early blast by Icelandic international Dagny Brynjarsdottir, her seventh goal of the season, proved to be enough to give No. 6 Florida State a 1-0 win over No. 2 Virginia, handing the Cavaliers their first loss of the season. The loss also snapped Virginia’s 17-game ACC regular season win streak.

-- Katie Yensen put Virginia Tech ahead after just 50 seconds and Murielle Tiernan added a late insurance goal as the No. 3 Hokies beat Duke, 2-0, to improve to 11-1-0.

-- Senior Havana Solaun and sophomores Betsy Middleton and Savannah Jordan scored to give No. 5 Florida a 3-1 win over Missouri in SEC play. Kelsey Killean's goal from the top of the penalty area with just 15 seconds remaining in the first half gave No. 21 Georgia a 1-0 win at No. 20 South Carolina in another SEC match.

-- No. 8 North Carolina ran off its fifth successive victory and remained unbeaten in ACC play with a 2-1 win over NC State on goals from Amber Munerlyn and Paige Nielsen. The game was marred for UNC by injuries sustained to starting Brooke Elby and Jewel Christian, who replaced her after nine minutes.

-- No. 10 Penn State remained perfect in the Big Ten at 5-0-0 with a 2-1 win over No. 24 Illinois on goals by freshman Frannie Crouse, her seventh goal of the season, and Salina Williford, her third in the last four games. Jannelle Flaws, the top goal scorer in the Big Ten with 14 goals, had scored 47 seconds after Crouse opened the scoring.

-- No. 12 Texas A&M rallied with two goals in the final 19 minutes, including Shea Groom’s gamewinner in the 79th minute, to register a 2-1 comeback win at Ole Miss.

-- A goal from sophomore Madison Tiernan in the 50th minute was all No. 17 Rutgers needed to defeat No. 13 Iowa, 1-0, in Big Ten action.
