Raul Jimenez scored his first goal for Spanish champ Atletico Madrid in Saturday’s 4-0 romp against Europa League champion Sevilla. The Mexican international completed a move to theVicente Calderon from Mexico’s Club America over the summer.

“I’m very happy. I really wanted to score my first goal and finally it came,” Jimenez told AS.“My teammates congratulated me. They were very happy for me.” The 23-year-old added that competition for places at Atleti is very tough. “There is no fixed starting lineup. We allwant to play but that’s up to the Coach and he has to find the best way,” he said. “If the Coach puts you in it’s because he thinks you’re in good form. There must alwaysbe intense competition.”
