Bruins extend unbeaten streak to 35 games

[UCLA-CALIFORNIA: Women] No. 1 UCLA blew open a close game with three-second half goals by Darian Jenkins, Sarah Killion and Zoey Goralski to defeat No. 19 California, 3-0, in a Monday Night Futbol game in Westwood. The Bruins extended their unbeaten streak to 35 games, which ties for the sixth-longest streak in NCAA history.
The Bruins outshot the Golden Bears by a count of 20-4 and could have won by a bigger margin but for some great work by Cal goalkeeper Emily Boyd. Sam Mewis took a shot that was tipped by Boyd onto the crossbar and Abby Dahlkemper had a free kick saved spectacularly late in the game.

“We had some chances to hit some through balls in the first half, but the pace of the service was a little hard,” said UCLA head coach Amanda Cromwell. “We were just a little out of sync on a few passes, but I thought we were dangerous and played well in the first half. Coming out in the second half and in the first minute and a half scoring that goal, that was huge, especially for Darian getting back on the board again with the goal-scoring. It was important for her.”
The Bruins earned their 10th shutout of the year, Katelyn Rowland’s school-record 46th of her career.

"Tonight was not our night," said Cal coach Neil McGuire. "UCLA played the best I've ever seen them play and made us pay. We can only learn and move on, but this one hurts."
