Junior transfer Jason Stacy
had a big week for No. 18 Michigan State with one goal and three assists
in the Spartans' 4-0 win over Western Michigan and the game-winning goal in their 2-0 win over No. 13 Penn State. The goal against WMU was a thing of beauty.
In the 22nd minute, Stacy
came out of nowhere and timed a clear from Western Michigan perfectly, striking a rocket from 30 yards out and putting it in the top right corner of the net for his third goal of the season.
"It's not too often where you get to score a goal like that," said Stacy. "It's probably the best goal I've ever scored in my career. You always look for opportunities like that. Fortunately, the
ball got knocked out, bouncing around near the 30-yard line. In training, you get to hit bangers like that, half volleys. Sometimes they go in, sometimes they don't. You just keep your head down on
the ball and give it a good go. I was fortunate enough to have it end up in the back of the net."
