Rio Ferdinand to Retire This Season

Former England captain and Queens Park Rangers defender Rio Ferdinand has said he plans to retire at the end of the current season. In an interview, the 35-year-old says,  “I probably think the end of this season,” when asked about retirement. “I’m not fearful of retirement, I’m looking forward to it, I can see some good stuff hopefully happening ahead.” Ferdinand, a former West Ham, Leeds and Manchester United center-back, has worked as a TV commentator and he has also already begun working towards receiving his coaching certificate.
