UCLA clinches NCAA Tournament bid with 6-0 win

[PAC-12: Women] No. 1 UCLA clinched automatic qualification to the NCAA Women's Tournament thanks to a 6-0 win at No. 17 Washington. The victory clinched at least a share of the Pac-12 title for the Bruins, who are 17-0-2 overall 9-0-1 in conference play. UCLA's unbeaten streak extends to 40 games, and its shutout streak now stands at six games and 577 consecutive scoreless minutes.

UCLA got goals in the first seven minutes from Taylor Smith and Sam Mewis as it locked up the Pac-12's automatic berth for the second consecutive year. Defender Caprice Dydasco had assists on both goals and tied a school record with three assists in the game.

Goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland tied her own school record with 15 shutouts this season and six consecutive shutouts. The Bruins, have scored 26 unanswered goals since allowing a goal in the 53rd minute to Stanford on Oct. 9.
Sarah Killion made it 3-0 with her seventh goal of the season in the 30th minute, and UCLA added three more goals in the final 20 minutes of the contest, the first on an own goal, the second when an errant UW clearance attempt went to Gabrielle Matulich, who finished for her first collegiate goal, the third with a goal by Kylie McCarthy off Dydasco's third assist.
UCLA can win the Pac-12 championship outright on Friday night at USC in the regular-season finale at the LA Coliseum.

-- Taylor Uhl had three goals and an assist and Lo’eau LaBonta scored twice to lead No. 3 Stanford to a 7-0 win over winless Oregon State. The Cardinal outshot Oregon State by 48-3, breaking the school record of 42 shots set against Sacramento State in a 2010 NCAA first-round match.

-- Katie Johnson’s goal with 38 seconds left in regulation gave visiting USC a 1-0 victory over No. 19 Washington State.
