David Moyes on Thursday was formally presented to the Spanish press as the new coach of Real Sociedad. During the unveiling, the former Everton and Manchester United manager described LaLiga as “better than the Premier League,” adding that he turned down several offers from clubs in the Premier League to join La Real.

“Real Sociedad tugged at my heart strings,”Moyes said. “La Liga has the finest players and great coaches and I want to test myself against the best. It is the right time. I am well rested and I am ready to go.”

Moyes replaces JagobaArrasate, who was fired two weeks ago following a poor run that left the club 15th in La Liga. The San Sebastian club has only recorded two wins so far this season, although these came againstEuropean champ Real Madrid and Spanish champ Atletico Madrid. Moyes’ first game in charge will be against Deportivo La Coruna on Nov 22.
