Arsenal's Injury Woes Ahead of Man United Clash

While much has been made of the injury crisis facing Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal, his opponent on Saturday, Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger, has some injury problems of his own. Long-term injury absentees include midfielder Mesut Ozil and defenders Laurent Koscielny and Mathieu Debuchy, but speaking to the press on Friday, the Frenchman also suggested that England internationals Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck could also miss Saturday’s clash at the Emirates after picking up injuries during international duty. Wenger also added that he would need to check the condition of Alexis Sanchez, who returned late Thursday. On a positive note, striker Olivier Giroud could make his return following a three-month absence.
