Bailey scored her first goal in the fifth minute and her second five minutes after Penn State evened the score in the 53rd minute on a goal by Salina Williford. Annie Kunz set up the first goal with a cross that Bailey finished off with a slide and Bianca Brinson played a ball into the six-yard box for Bailey's second goal.

The Nittany Lions' best chance to equalize came in the 74th minute when A&M keeper Jordan Day was forced to come off of her line to make a save on Mallory Weber, and Haleigh Echard's shot off the rebound was blocked by Aggie defender Karlie Mueller.

With the win, A&M improved its school-record win total to 22. The Aggies, who are 13-0-1 since suffering a 1-0 loss to Florida on Oct. 3, will face Virginia in the semifinals at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Florida, on Friday. Florida State or Stanford in the College Cup championship match on Sunday, December 7.

“I’m just exhaling," A&M coach G Guerrieri said afterwards. "I feel like I’ve been holding my breath for the last hour and ten minutes, because of the way Penn State was playing. For me personally, this is getting over a big hump. We’ve had so many great teams that were good enough to be in the College Cup, good enough to compete and arguably play alongside those teams that were there and that won it, but never did. Always went on the road in this particular round."

Guerreri credited the support of the Aggie fans for giving his team a lift. The crowd of 3,161 fans was the largest for the four quarterfinals.
