NBC’s broadcast of Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Arsenal on Nov. 22 averaged 1.4 million viewers to rank as the most-watched live Premier League match in U.S. history. Since kicking
off its EPL coverage in August 2013, NBC Sports Group has aired seven of the 10 most-watched live EPL telecasts ever in the United States.
The 1.4 million viewers beat the record for a
live EPL broadcast of 1.29 million viewers set on Oct. 26 for the Manchester United-Chelsea game. Until this season, the record was 1.24 million viewers for the 2013 EPL match between Welsh clubs
Cardiff City and Swansea City.
The record U.S. audience for an EPL broadcast remains 1.626 million viewers for the tape-delayed coverage of Chelsea-Liverpool on Fox in November 2011. The
game followed coverage of an NFL game on Fox.
