Trade Central: MLS clubs move quickly during window

The Portland Timbers, who failed to make the 2014 MLS playoffs a year after finishing first in the Western Conference during the regular season, were out of the box quickly, announcing six player deals Monday morning, while Sporting Kansas City and Orlando City confirmed three trades with other MLS clubs.

MLS teams had until 1 p.m. ET to make trades. After that, a blackout will be in effective until after Wednesday's Expansion Draft.

The Timbers acquired defender Nat Borchers from Real Salt Lake for allocation money, dealt defender Michael Harrington to Colorado for allocation money and signed Ghanaian international goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey from Norway's Stromgodset, where he was born and raised, Brazilian defender Jeanderson and Colombian winger/forward Dairon Asprilla. They also exercised the purchase option on defender Alvas Powell from Jamaican club Portmore United.

--  Philadelphia traded Okugo to Orlando City in exchange for allocation money and Orlando’s second round pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. The Union in turn acquired 25-year-old forward C.J. Sapong from Sporting Kansas City in exchange for the Union’s highest pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. Sporting KC sent Collin to Orlando for allocation money and future considerations. In Sporting KC's third deal, it acquired midfielder Bernardo Anor from the Columbus Crew in exchange for allocation money. Orlando City confirmed it had acquired goalkeeper Tally Hall from Houston for allocation money and an international roster spot.

-- Houston acquired the rights to goalkeeper Joe Willis and defender Samuel Inkoom from D.C. United in exchange for midfielder Andrew Driver and a fourth-round pick in the 2016 SuperDraft.

-- New England acquired goalkeeper Joe Nasco and a third-round pick in the 2015 SuperDraft from Colorado in exchange for forwards Geoffrey Castillion and Dimitry Imbongo and a second-round pick in the SuperDraft.

-- The Columbus Crew sent defender Josh Williams to New York City FC for allocation money.
