Hope Solo: 'I was a victim of domestic violence'

In January, two misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree assault against Solo, from a June 2014 altercation with her 17-year-old nephew and half-sister, were dropped by a Kirkland (Wash.) Municipal Court judge.
Regarding the charges, Solo told "Good Morning America" host Robin Roberts:
"I was a victim of domestic violence at the hands of my 17-year-old nephew who is 6-foot-9, 280 pounds. I was struck over the head and concussed pretty severely. It was a very scary night."
Solo continued to represent the USA during the legal proceedings, but after she was in the U.S. team van that her husband was driving when he was charged with a DUI around 2 a.m. on Jan. 19, U.S. Soccer suspended Solo.
“Clearly, I wasn’t thinking,” Solo said. "It was a horrible choice. I think I just wasn’t in a good place, emotionally, to even make good decisions. It’s not an excuse. It was stupid,” she added "We should have called a taxi."
Come on hope....my wife and i were at a private function....got to see the drunk side of you....you got pretty wasted and you hold alot of anger within yourself....just be truthful don't lie....
.....and this is your business how? Is your PHD in Psychology or simple BS. Were you drinking as well? Did she get more attention than you, "jealousy"? Why does she owe you "your" truth.
Its a matter of public record in terms of Hope Solo's accumulating contacts with law enforcement, including DUI, public drunkenness, rude and disorderly conduct etc. Get help before you hurt someone.
Hope Solo is a hopeless soul. Now the typical domestic abuse victim excuse to gain sympathy. Now the ghetto girl will throw the ghetto fool under the bus to come out aHead.
She doesn't really owe us an explanation... But I do wonder why her husband also thought it was okay to drive a USSF vehicle??? ALSO, Would he put her in a car with someone drunk?? Not very smart NOR supportive of his wife. And were charges filed against her nephew? If not, why not?
Size does matter, as does gender. We have all experience domestic violence in one form of another, siblings rivalries, cousins, nephews, and so on, sometimes things go out of hand. But the fact was that Solo's incident went under the radar until we so the brutal punch of Ray Rice to a woman half his size and half his weight. Then everyone turned to Solo's case who could instead of defend herself physically called 911 and set the record straight as being victim of domestic violence rather than the offender. BUT intending to compare 280 lbs Ray Rice knocking his fiancée out cowardly in an elevator to Hope Solo defending herself of an aggression is outrageous.
Until she is convicted of something anything more than a misdemeanor Hope Solo is still a world class athlete and should only be dropped from the team for failure to perform.
As for size and gender not beling relevant ... 5'9" female vs 6'8" male ... come on!
And the "roll model" bit .... some of the greatest sports heroes in American history were all to be found to have clay feet and still made it to their respective sports halls of fame.
