The id2 all-stars, U.S. Club Soccer's touring under-14 selection, played to a 3-3 tie with Velez Sarsfield's Infantiles before losing to Boca Juniors' team from the same U-14 age group, 3-1, on
Thursday.
Luis Arriaga (Santa Rosa United), Eduardo Blancas (Napa Valley FC) and Ed Berumen (Modesto Ajax United) scored in the Velez match that featured all six goals in the second half -- including three in the first three minutes. Berumen's goal off an assist by
Bryang Kayo (Bethesda SC) came in stoppage time.
In the Boca match, Togo Nakamura (LA Galaxy) scored for
the id2 all-stars, giving Californians all four goals.
Arriaga is one of five players who traveled with the U.S. under-14 national team in February to Spain, where they beat a Real Madrid
team.
The Argentina tour continues with matches Saturday against Argentinos Juniors' Infantiles and Monday against San Lorenzo's Infantiles.
