MLS Week 8: Sarvas, Marshall and Saunders suspended

Colorado and Seattle will be without key players for Western Conference clashes this weekend after they were suspended for incidents in last Saturday's game. The MLS Disciplinary Committee suspended Rapids midfielder Marcelo Sarvas and Sounders defender Chad Marshall for two games and one game, respectively.

Sarvas was handed a two-game suspension and was fined for his stomp on Clint Dempsey in the 40th minute of the Sounders' 3-1 win. Marshall received a one-game ban and was also fined for his high tackle on Vicente Sanchezearlier in the first half. Colorado hosts FC Dallas Friday night, while Seattle is at home against Portland on Sunday night.

New York City FC will be without suspended starting keeper Josh Saunders for Friday's game at Chicago. He was given a one-game ban for his challenge on Timbers forward Ishamel Yartey in the second half of Portland's 1-0 win at Yankee Stadium. No foul was called on the play with the score still 0-0.
