Coach Andi Herzog’s team has played three games so far in 2015. Its 3-0 win over Mexico April 22 was preceded by a 5-2 win over Bosnia and a 1-0 loss to Denmark in March.
“We are absolutely excited about this invitation to compete with these teams,” Herzog said in a press release. “We have emphasized the need for this group to be together as much as possible, and to get another chance to train and play against England and Qatar will be a great opportunity to evaluate players as we look to finalize our roster for Olympic qualifying.”
Prior to the England trip, the U-23s will take part in the Toulon Tournament in France, where they’ll face France (May 27), the Netherlands (May 29), Costa Rica (May 31) and Qatar (June 2) in group play.
The 2015 Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship will be played in the United States Oct. 1-13.
