The U.S. U-15 boys national team won the Torneo delle Nazioni with a 3-2 final win over Austria on Friday. Andrew Carleton struck twice in the first half and Tim Weahadded a third in the 63rd minute before the Austrians scored in the 65th and 77th minutes.
George Acosta assisted on the USA’s opening goal in the 12th minute witha pass to Carleton, who evaded an Austrian defender before rounding the keeper.
In the 22nd minute, Carleton finished a rebound off the post. Weah scored from the edge of the penalty area.
U.S. goalkeeper Eric Lopez made several late-game saves to preserve the 3-2 edge.
Austria reached the final by topping Group B, which included Mexico, Albania and Brazil,and beating Slovenia, 2-0 in the semifinals.
The USA, coached by John Hackworth, prevailed in a penalty kick shootout over Italy in the semifinals after group-stage wins overCosta Rica (4-1) and Croatia (6-2) and a 3-2 loss to Slovenia.

Wait, Austria was the Host?? Mike, I think this “Torneo” is in Italia.
Was not the USA U15 Team. They are listed as USA U16 Team. They took 3 of the top 99’s, one of which is goalie that made all those saves, Eric Lopez. Why cant you guys get that right SA?
