NASL Weekend: Cosmos save it late to earn point

The league-leading New York Cosmos remained unbeaten, tying Carolina, 2-2, on the road with two goals in second-half stoppage time before 7,217 fans at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday night.

Carolina got goals from Neil Hlavaty and Tiyi Shipalane but couldn't close the game out as an own goal by Futty Danso in the first minute of stoppage time and Andres Flores' equalizer as time expired tied the match and left the RailHawks winless in six straight games.

Indy Eleven-Minnesota United | Look out for for the Loons. After going winless in its first four games, Minnesota United FC has now won two in a row, earning a 3-1 decision at Indy Eleven before 10,524 fans at Carroll Stadium. Minnesota got goals from Kalif Alhassan on a free kick from 28 yards, Justin Davis and Juliano Vicentini.

Tampa Bay-Fort Lauderdale | Venezuelan youngster Robert Hernandez scored on a rebound in the 55th minute to give Tampa Bay a 1-0 win over Fort Lauderdale in the year's first Florida Derby. The win moved the Rowdies to within three points of the Cosmos.

Atlanta-Jacksonville | Making his first start in the NASL since last October when he was with the Cosmos, Hans Denissen scored only seconds into the match to end Atlanta's goal drought that lasted three matches. But Jacksonville earned a 1-1 tie on Alhassane Keita's fourth goal of the season in the 20th minute.
