U.S. SOCCER: Arena calls 28 players to training camp

In the wake of an agreement between U.S. Soccer and the national team playersÆ union to continue negotiations while competing to qualify for the 2006 World Cup, Coach Bruce Arena has called in 27 MLS players and one USL player to training camp at the Home Depot Center to prepare for the Feb. 9 qualifier at Trinidad & Tobago.

Clyde Simms of the USLÆs Richmond Kickers, one of 22 replacement players brought into camp last Monday, has been retained by Arena.

The USA will depart for Trinidad on Feb. 7 after relocating to South Florida, where several European-based players are expected to join the squad after competing in their league matches that weekend.
