What They're Saying: Meghan Klingenberg

“If we keep teams to zero goals and only score one per game, I wouldn’t say that’s a deficiency. I’d say that’s winning.”

-- U.S. left back Meghan Klingenberg, in response to concerns that her team's offensive deficiencies have been overshadowing its defensive record than includes three straight shutouts. (New York Times)

I just posted this on the other Thread... She Read my mind...Santiago 1314 commented on: June 25, 2015 at 10:02 a.m.p.s. @ Daniel,...I am NOT being Sarcastic about "AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM"...When you have Traveled the World Representing this Country and this Federation, You Realize HOW BAD EVERYONE WANTS TO BEAT US...It's NOT just about the Soccer...Example; In the 80's I took a Team of u14 club players to play in a Small town in Holland...Opposing fans showed up with the SOVIET Red HAMMER & SICKLE Flag...IN HOLLAND !!!... We ARE THE GREATEST COUNTRY THIS WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN...(Especially in Women's Soccer)...And it Wears on a Opponents Mentality...We do not look like we can beat Germany, France or Japan via Skill, maybe even Athleticism... BUT, WE OWN THEM MENTALLY !!!....The Gals will just have to stay after it...Battle, Hustle, Scrap Tooth and Nail...Cause that's ALL we have... So SAD, isn't It. ..** But, It's worth ONE Goal a Game...And, if the Defense can Hold Up, We can WIN THIS WORLD CUP...JUST WIN BABY WIN !!!
