NWSL Weekend: Red Stars stay on top

The top three teams in the NWSL all won. The Chicago Red Stars stayed in first place, a point ahead of Seattle and Washington, as they won, 3-0 at Sky Blue FC.

Jen Hoy had a goal and an assist and Sofia Huerta had two assists for the Red Stars, who improved to improve to 5-1-3. They welcomed back New Zealand Women's World Cup defender  Abby Erceg.

The Reign got goals a minute apart from Beverly Yanez and Kim Little to beat FC Kansas City in a rematch of the 2014 NWSL final. Seattle extended its undefeated streak at Memorial Stadium to 18 games, dating back to the start of the 2014 season.

Crystal Dunn's league-high seventh goal of the season was the difference as the Spirit edged Houston.
