USL Weekend: Rhinos stay unbeaten, Jamieson scores twice

The Rochester Rhinos defeated the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, 1-0, as the USL's top defense shut down the league's top offense. In his first game back since injuring himself at the Under-20 World Cup, Bradford Jamieson IV scored two great goals in four minutes to give LA Galaxy II a 4-2 over Tulsa.

A 78th-minute penalty from Tony Walls was the only goal in the match played in torrential rain. Rhinos keeper Brandon Miller lowered his league-best goals-against average to 0.32.

The Rhinos set a franchise record for longest unbeaten run at the start of a season with 14 straight matches without a loss, bettering the mark set by the 1998 Rhinos, who lost in a shootout to Long Island in their 14th league match of the season after starting with 13 straight wins.

-- In his first game back since injuring himself at the Under-20 World Cup, Bradford Jamieson IV scored two great goals in four minutes to give LA Galaxy II a 4-2 over the Tulsa Roughnecks Saturday night on the road. Raul Mendiola and Ariel Lassiter also scored for Los Dos.

Sacramento are technically in first place, but reality is that the bunch behind all have at least two games in hand, and once the Republic play a bunch of friendlies next month they may find themselves in fifth place quickly.
