U.S. Abroad: Torres absent from Copa Libertadores final

After starting both legs of the semifinals, Jose Torres did not play for Mexico's Tigres in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores final against River Plate. The Argentine club, winner of the South American club championship in 1986 and 1996, held Tigres to a 0-0 draw in Monterrey and will host the second leg next Wednesday.

-- Paul Arriola scored for Tijuana in its 2-1 win over Zacatepec in their Copa MX opener. Fellow Americans Alejandro Guido and Amando Moreno also started for Xolos. Guido had also started for Tijuana in its Liga MX opener.
