NPSL championship draws 18,227 fans in Chattanooga

A year after the New York Red Bulls U23 beat Chattanooga FC to capture the NPSL championship, the New York Cosmos B spoiled the Tennessee club's title hopes with a 3-2 win in overtime in front of a record-breaking crowd of 18,227.

The first-year Cosmos B got two goals from midfielder Ibrahim Diaby and one from midfielder Julian Stahler to hold off Chattanooga FC.

“Personally this means so much to me because I know how much these kids have sacrificed and worked,” New York Cosmos B head coach Alecko Eskandarian said. “A lot of guys went away from their families and trusted me.  I’m really happy to see it all pay off in the end because I have a fantastic group of talented players that have bright futures ahead of them.”
