U.S. U-17s finish Czech tourney with win over Ukraine

The U.S. U-17 boys national team, which is headed to the 2015 U-17 World Cup in October, finished play at the 22nd Vaclav Jezek International Youth Tournament in the Czech Republic with a 2-1 win over Ukraine and a 1-1 tie against Slovakia.

The Richie Williams-coached U.S. team had opened with a 4-2 loss to fellow U-17 World Cup qualifier Russia and a 1-1 tie with Slovenia.

The host Czechs beat Russia on PKs after a 1-1 tie in the final. The placement-game win over Ukraine earned the USA a seventh-place finish.
