After a gap of 18 years, the old Texas-Pan-American Division I men’s program has been revived under the banner of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Coach Paul Leese’s has modestexpectations for the Vaqueros’ first season during which wins and losses won’t mean as much as improved play. “That’s what will be important for the long term,” Leese said.“Game to game, are we playing well on the field and are we moving forward? That’s what we need to ask ourselves.” The Vaqueros, who will play in the WAC, open Friday against NAIAHuston-Tillotson at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
