The opening of the 2015 season has been frustrating for FGCU -- a loss to Wake Forest, tie against Georgetown and win over UCF that was declared a no contest because it was called due to weather --
but the Eagles finally got their first win when freshman Preston Kilwien scored from 35 yards out with 75 seconds left to give them a 3-2 win over Princeton.
Not bad for your collegiate debut with your parents in town from California.
"I had a lot of space on the left side and Rodrigo [Saravia] did a
good job of finding me," explained Kilwien, who also had an aunt on hand from Texas. "I got the trap and it wasn't the greatest touch, but I just hit it. I didn't really know it was in until I saw it
hit the net. It was the greatest moment I've had so far."
The Tigers had come into the game with a nation-best 10-game unbeaten streak.
