What They're Saying: Ben Olsen

“It’s always a challenge for MLS teams to get up to speed, to change the way you do your [preparation] in preseason, in a safe way for your players. It’s a challenge. It’s a real challenge. I am thrilled they are moving the Concacaf to a -- how would I say that? -- in a seasonal way. They are changing things. You guys know that, right? It’s not just me?”

-- D.C. United coach Ben Olsen lets the cat out of the bag on Concacaf plans to change the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League competition schedule to start in the spring and finish in the fall, running in conjunction with the order of the MLS season and allowing for a shorter gap between when the champion is crowned and it heads to the FIFA Club World Cup. I mean, I don't get it. .. Those LigaMX teams turn over like, 12 players each Apertura/Clausura...Doesn't seem "Fair" that you can switch out so many players once you start the competition...

Ukrainian teams could pound MLS or Liga MX teams and they are fighting the Russians, implosion of their society, economy and they spend like 1% of what we or Mexico spend on football and their Top European qualifying teams would beat us into the ground my guess is most of their teams would beat our teams. But CONCACAF, SUM, MLS, USSF with LigaMX & Mexican federation know what they are doing.
