“It was a good, solid performance start to finish,” said Krikorian. “Solid performances from a lot of players and nice to see some different kids get on the scoresheet. I thought we also did a good job of limiting chances at our goal.”

Icelandic freshman Elin Jensen led No. 4 FSU with two goals and one assist. Two other freshmen, Kaycie Tillman and Dallas Dorosy, also scored. In all, four goals and two assists tonight were recorded by freshmen. Seven of the eight freshmen on the team have scored at least one point this season, with Megan Connolly leading the team with 10 points so far in 2015.

“We knew we had a talented group of young kids,” added Krikorian. “They’ve continued to mature and develop into good players and will continue to help us.”

-- No. 25 Washington State earned a 3-0 win over Gonzaga on goals by Cara Wegner, Maddy Haro and Kaitlyn Johnson to improve to 7-0-0.  With a perfect record, one of only three teams in the country that has not conceded a tie or loss, WSU is off to its best start in program history.

“It was a great,” WSU Head Coach Todd Shulenberger said. “We’re doing good stuff right now. We just have to take it one game at a time. We scored three fantastic goals. We’re creating more opportunities. We’re not a team that has just one goal scorer. We have a bunch of goal scorers.”

-- In a game with 35 combined shots, Hermann Trophy candidate Ashley Hatch netted the only goal of the game as No. 9 BYU  handed Oregon State(4-1-2) its first loss of the season, 1-0.

"I thought tonight was a great game,” BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood said. “We scored early in the game, which is what we were pushing for. Obviously, we would have liked to score another goal, but all in all, I thought it was an excellent performance from our team.”
