CCL: Real Salt Lake win or tie will make it U.S. sweep

Real Salt Lake will look to quickly put its disappointment of not making the MLS playoffs behind it when it hosts Municipal of Guatemala Tuesday in the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League.

CCL Week 6, Schedule:
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20
8 pm ET Santos (MEX) vs. Saprissa (CRC)
10 pm ET Motagua (HON) vs. Club America (MEX)
10 pm ET Real Salt Lake vs. Municipal (GUA)
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21
8 pm ET Tigres (MEX) vs. Herediano (CRC)
10 pm ET Comunicaciones (GUA) vs. LA Galaxy
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22
8 pm ET Montego Bay (JAM) vs. Arabe Unido (PAN)
10 pm ET Olimpia (HON) vs. Vancouver Whitecaps
10 pm ET San Francisco (PAN) vs. Verdes FC (BLZ)

A win or tie against Municipal will send RSL into the knockout stage. If RSL advances it would mark the first time all four of MLS's U.S. entrants have reached the CCL quarterfinals. D.C. United, the LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders have all clinched.

Mexico's four entrants are also in good shape to advance. Jonathan Bornstein's Queretaro has already advanced. Defending champion Club America will clinch on Tuesday as long as it does not lose by five goals at Honduran club Motagua. Santos will move into the knockout phase with a win at home against Costa Rica's Saprissa. On Wednesday, Tigres will host Costa Rica's Herediano, needing only a tie to advance.

This is the best news of the year in US soccer is how MLS has finally taken CCL seriously and we are performing better then anytime in the last 20 years. If we start to dominate CCL in club and MLS built academies in Central American/Carib/Mexico we could double MLS fan base in then next 5 years.
