Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal on Monday explained his decision to drop Memphis Depay and Daley Blind from his starting lineup as United beat Everton 3-0 on Saturday, explaining that the decision was partly because of the Netherlands’ failure to qualify for Euro 2016 last week. “[My selection] is dependable on the game plan, it is dependable on the qualities of theopponents, which players I want to select for the lineup and also dependable on the defeat of the Dutch team,” van Gaal said, adding that he would likely stick with the same players against CSKAMoscow on Wednesday: “Now they have played very well, so I am not stupid, I won’t change too much on Wednesday.”
