Italian Sebastian Giovinco, who claimed the 2015 Audi Golden Boot as the league’s top goal scorer, set an MLS record for most goals (22) and assists (16)combined in a single season (38), breaking Chris Wondolowski’s previous record of 34 (27 goals and 7 assists) in 2012. He is also the first player to leadMLS in goals and assists in the same season. MLS averaged 2.76 goals per game, down 3 percent from the 2014 season, its highest average in nine years.
