Columbus adds seats for Sunday's MLS playoff game

Columbus Crew SC will expand MAPFRE Stadium’s capacity for Sunday's match against the New York Red Bulls in  the first leg of the Eastern Conference championship. As of Monday afternoon, all lower-level seats were sold out, so the Crew is adding temporary general-admission bleacher seating on the north side of the stadium.

The Crew added that the majority of the upper-level seats for Sunday's match were already sold out. It will also expand the seating for the Nordecke, the main supporters' group section, to include the entirety of Section 102, which has already sold out.

Columbus also announced that the stadium will offer a half-off discount on all beers in the first half for supporters aged 21 and over on Sunday.

The Crew drew 19,026 fans for its home leg in the conference semifinals, the second largest home postseason crowd in the history of MAPFRE Stadium, which opened in 1999.
