The Swope Park Rangers, Sporting Kansas City's new second team that will play in the USL, hired former Ottawa Fury head coach Marc Dos Santos
. The 38-year-old
Montreal native enters his 10th season as a coach and is considered one of the top young coaches to come out of Canada.
"I often need time to make an important decision but I must say
this was one of the easiest ones to make," Dos Santos said. "It's clear to me that I'm joining a fantastic organization with a great group of people. The vision that the club has with Swope Park
Rangers, coupled with the city and the fans in Kansas City, definitely had an impact on my decision. I'm looking forward to starting this project and I'm sure it will be a successful one."
Dos Santos, 38, worked in the Montreal Impact organization as an assistant coach and then head coach in 2011. But it went with Jesse Marsch
as head coach for its debut in MLS the
next year. Dos Santos then spent two years in Brazil as an academy coach before joining Ottawa for its NASL launch in 2014. In Brazil, he was technical director at Desportivo Brasil, operated by
Traffic to park and then sell players.
