English freshman
Max Blackmore scored his 34th goal of the season, redirecting a cross from classmate
Jaric Spath, in
overtime to give Louisburg a 1-0 win over Tyler in the NJCAA Division I men’s title game.
The championship victory for Louisburg was its first of any kind at the national level.
With the win, the Hurricanes improved to 24-1-0 on the year.
Blackmore's goal gave him at least one in every tournament match. He finished as the NJCAA leading scorer ahead of Pima's
Jason Romero, who scored 32 goals.
Louisburg had beaten Pima, 2-1, in Friday's semifinals.
