MLS: Orlando City declines option on Hall

Stemming from the roster moves announced Wednesday, Orlando City SC may not look radically different in 2016. The Lions declined contract options on eight players, including goalkeeper Tally Hall, defender Corey Ashe and forward Danny Mwanga, but the rights to eight other players were retained and an additional 14 players -- including Kaka, Brek Shea, Aurelien Collin, and 2015 MLS Rookie of the Year Cyle Larin -- are under contract for 2016. The decision to decline the option on Hall, though, leaves the Lions without a goalkeeper with MLS experience.

Ashe and Avila are eligible for free agency. Josh Ford, Lewis Neal, Tony Cascio, Hall and Mwanga will be eligible to participate in Major League Soccer’s Re-Entry process. (Cascio’s contract has expired.)

On Dec. 7, MLS will release the full list of players eligible for free agency and the Re-Entry Draft first phase. Teams can re-sign their own players eligible for free agency or the Re-Entry draft until Dec. 10. MLS will conduct the first stage of the Re-Entry Draft Dec. 11.
