NCAA DII Men: Reasso leads Pfeiffer into final four

Unbeaten and untied Pfeiffer will look to win its first NCAA Division II men's national championship when it travels to Pensacola, Florida for the final four that begins Thursday. The Falcons, coached by former Rutgers boss Bob Reasso, improved to 23-0-0 with a 5-4 win over Palm Beach Atlantic in a match they trailed with under five minutes to play.

Cristobal Allendes scored with one second left to give the Falcons the win and a berth in the semifinals against Charleston of West Virginia. Pfeiffer led 2-0 and 3-2 before falling behind 4-3 thanks to a hat trick from Sailfish star Jermaine Metz. In the 85th minute, Roberto Soares scored to make it 4-4 and helped set up winner when he kept a ball inbounds with under 10 seconds left and beat his defender to send a ball into the area, where Allendes scored.

"It was a hard game but I am very proud of our guys," said Reasso. "You have to give credit to Palm Beach, they are the toughest team we have played all year. At the end of the day, our belief in each other, our spirit and our heart wouldn't allow us to lose."

The winner of the Pfeiffer-Charleston game will play the the winner of Cal Poly Pomona and Rockhurst in Sunday's final.
