The NASL’s Ft. Lauderdale Strikers, who open their 2016 preseason against Germany’s Schalke 04 Jan. 10 in the Florida Cup, signed defenders Gale Agbossoumonde and Nana Attakora andforwards Maicon Santos and Giuseppe Gentile, giving them 13 players under contract.
 
“All four players bring a high level of experience and professionalism to thelocker room,” said Strikers head coach and general manager Caio Zanardi. “We are excited by the prospect of a young player like Giuseppe and the proven goalscoring record of MaiconSantos. At the back, Gale and Nana are two physically strong defenders with international experience at matches at the highest level.”
 
Agbossoumonde debuted for the USA on his19th birthday against South Africa in 2010 but has never lasted a long time at any club. He has spent time the USL-1’s Miami FC, the NASL’s Carolina RailHawks and MLS’s Toronto FC and Colorado Rapids.Agbossoumonde spent time in Europe with Braga and Estoril Praia (Portugal), Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany) and Djurgardens IF (Sweden). In 2015, he played with Maicon Santos on the NASL’s Tampa BayRowdies.
