Report: Werder Bremen expects to sign Jordan Morris

German newspaper Weser-Kurier reported that Jordan Morris and Hungarian Laszlo Kleinheisler been offered contracts by Bundesliga club Werder Bremen, and its general manager, Thomas Eichin, expects to reach an agreement with them shortly.

"They have confirmed in training camp, what we have seen of them before," said Eichin. "They fit into our plans. The two will do us good."

Weser-Kurier said it was not a question of if Morris and Kleinheisler, both 21, signed but when.

Eichin cautioned that the two players were young and inexperienced and won't be the answer to relegation-threatened Bremen's problems. It resumes play on Sunday at Schalke 04.

Morris made his debut for Werder Bremen, starting in a 1-0 win over Inter Baku of Azerbaijan in the Turkish town of Belek on Friday. Morris played the whole game and set up the lone goal by Claudio Pizarro.

The next chapter for JM. He has to be thrilled. Excited for him.

This signing makes sense for a bunch of reasons. 1. Relegation threatened team needs help now. 2. Traditionally attacking team has more slots for strikers. 3. competition is 37 year old set to retire. 4. In Quarterfinals of cup can reach Europa league with cup win.

M.H., you're argument is questionable. If every statement u made was true, WB would be shopping for a proven quality player.

With all the attention on Morris, what is Aron Johanson's situation ?

I'm beginning to wonder about AJ's durability. I like him as a player, but as long as JK goes with the lone forward, I'm afraid we won't see much of him. He seems to miss significant time each year, recently, rehabbing and then getting in game shape.

And what about Pulisic (sp?) at Dortmund ?

Karl, it sounds like he is doing really good at the moment. He probably will make an appearance on JK's roster sometime this year. What were you getting at with your question?
