Tim Holt will head up USL's new San Antonio team

Former USL president Tim Holt is leaving Orlando City after less than a year to become managing director for the new USL franchise in San Antonio, which will begin play in March at Toyota Field.

He will also be a vice president for Spurs Sports & Entertainment, owner of the NBA San Antonio Spurs, who launched the franchise with the hope of seeking an MLS club.

Holt was USL president for six years (2009-15) before joining Orlando City as vice president of development for its expansion season.

Also coming over from Orlando City will be Darren Powell as head coach. Powell, the former Elon men’s head coach, was working as OCSC's academy director
