USL: T2 lands two more foreign youth prospects

The Portland Timbers' USL team, T2, continues to scour the globe for youth prospects. After signing 2013 Nigerian Under-17 World Cup champion Akinjide Idowu, it has added Belgian midfielder Dylan Damraoui and Cameroonian forward Alexis Meva, a pair of 18-year-olds.

Damraoui, a former Belgian youth international, arrives from Belgian's Club Brugge, where he played central midfielder for its U-21s. Meva joined FC Barcelona’s youth system at the age of 10 in 2008 and played for Barca through U-19 level. He was one of Barcelona's youth players suspended as part of FIFA's crackdown on foreign minors illegally registered with pro clubs and only made his debut with Barca's Juvenil A in January.

T2's other offseason signing is 22-year-old New Zealand national team midfielder Tim Payne, who played for New Zealand's Auckland City FC in the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco.

T2 Roster:
GOALKEEPERS: Justin Luthy.
DEFENDERS: Rennico Clarke (Jamaica), Akinjide Idowu (Nigeria).
MIDFIELDERS: Seth Casiple, Dylan Damraoui (Belgium), Tim Payne (New Zealand).
FORWARDS: Kharlton Belmar, Alexis Meva (Cameroon), Brent Richards, Rundell Winchester (Trin. & Tobago).
