Infantino: USA could host World Cup tomorrow

New FIFA president Gianni Infantino says he holds no debt to the United States for helping crack down on corruption in his ranks with the investigatory tools it has at its disposal, or for U.S. Soccer helping get him elected. Nonetheless, he said the United States could host the World Cup tomorrow. "The infrastructures are there and the football of the United States has really progressed a lot in the last few years in the population," he said. "Women’s football is absolutely fantastic. I attended myself the final of the FIFA World Cup in Vancouver last year. It was a great celebration with a great national team. The men’s national team has been participating in the World Cup since 1990 so the results are there.”

    I am sure he is referring to the travesty that is the Qatar world cup which should never have happened, period. We can only hope they will strip them of it, and the obvious choice would be the US in 2022. Russia is not going to change.
