Barcelona striker Luis Suarez
says he's "privileged" to overtake former Barca star Ronaldo
after scoring four goals against Deportivo La Coruna to move ahead of the Brazilian's tally of
48 goals in a season with 49. The only player who has scored more is Lionel Messi
, who has the club record of 73 goals in a season.
"I feel privileged and proud to overtake Ronaldo
for what he did for Barca and in world soccer," said Suarez. "It's a privilege to overtake a soccer great like him."
Suarez also provided three assists in the 8-0 win over Deportivo,
becoming the first player in the history of La Liga to be directly involved in seven goals in a game.
