Euro 2016: Inler absent from Switzerland's provisional squad

Former captain Gokhan Inler was left out of Switzerland's 28-man provisional squad for Euro 2016. The move by coach Vladimir Petkovic was no surprise  as Inler, capped 89 times, saw little playing time (just 195 minutes) during Leicester City's Premier League title run.

"I am truly sorry for Gokhan," said Petkovic. "He is a great player, a great character, but I had to remain faithful to my ideas and my actions."

Of note: Young Boys teenager Denis Zakaria received his first international call-up.
