Dutch soccer federation president Michael van Praag will run for UEFA president to replace Michel Platini, who was banned from soccer for six years. Van Praag said he wanted touse “my experience, knowledge and networks to make UEFA a cohesive unit again,” warning that UEFA had drifted into an impasse since Platini was suspended and faced the threat of a breakaway superleague by Europe’s top clubs.
