Copa Centenario Countdown: U.S. foes set up base

Colombia and Paraguay, which will both play the USA in Group A at the Copa Centenario, opened training in Florida. The Cafeteros had just nine players for their first session at FIU in Miami, while Paraguay came with 16 players to Orlando, where it opened training Monday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Colombia, which will play Haiti Sunday at Miami's  Marlins Park, has allowed Mexican-based players Stefan Medina and Oscar Murillo, who play for Pachuca, and Edwin Cardona of Monterrey to stay for the Torneo Clausura final. James Rodriguez is with Real Madrid for the UEFA Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.

Paraguay has had to replace injured midfielder Nestor Ortigoza, who started four its six World Cup 2018 qualifiers, with Victor Ayala of Argentine club Lanus since the release of its roster for the Copa Centenario.

The remaining  seven Paraguayan players play for clubs Cerro Porteno and Olimpia, which finished the Paraguayan league season last weekend.
