Arsenal signed Swiss national team midfielder Granit Xhaka
from Borussia Moenchengladbach for 30 million pounds ($44 million), making him its third-most expensive transfer. Xhaka joined
Gladbach in 2012 from FC Basel, where he won two Swiss titles.
"Granit is an exciting young player, already with good Champions League and Bundesliga experience," said Arsenal manager
Arsene Wenger. "We have been watching him for a long time now and he is a player who will add quality to our squad."
